For the last several decades, the Instructors Exhibition has opened the fall season in the Phyllis Harriman Mason Gallery at the Art Students League. In an atelier-based school, like the League, an instructor’s work of art can serve as a kind of shorthand for the unique curriculum that he or she brings to the studio. This year we welcome ten artists into the regular season corps of instructors: Jeff Buckland, who will be teaching Art for Animation; Augustine Boyce Cummings, who will be teaching Mixed Media; Jon deMartin, who will be teaching Life Drawing; Greg Follender, who will be teaching a special sequential class, Fundamentals of Drawing; Christopher Gallego, who will be teaching Advanced Drawing, Painting, and Composition; Eric March, who will be teaching Fundamentals of Drawing; Ricky Mujica, who will be teaching Painting from Life; Edmond Rochat, who will be teaching Figure Drawing; Bennett Vadnais, who will be teaching Cityscape Painting; and Amy Weiskopf, who will be teaching Color Is Light Is Color.
