Anne Stanner Exhibiting Sculpture in Three Exhibitions

Anne Stanner’s sculptures are appearing in three New York City venues over the next several weeks. Two of Stanner’s sculptures, Bessie’s Promenade and Queen’s Wedding, are on view as part of Art vs. Tyranny, the 22nd annual Lower East Side Festival of the Arts, which opened May 7 at the Theater for the New City[1] and continues through June 30, 2017. Four of Stanner’s metal found object assemblage wall masks are part of the 8th CCNY Alumni Biennial Exhibition 2017 at Aaron Davis Hall-Performing Arts Center Lobby, on the campus of City College (Harlem, NY) through June 30. Finally, Stanner’s Rockaway Wave will be installed as part of the exhibition On the Rock: Public Sculpture at Rockaway Beach Park, which will open June 3 and continue through October 9, 2017. An opening celebration is scheduled for Saturday, June 3 at 12:30 pm. One of sixteen sculptures to appear along the parkway, Rockaway Wave consists of six-foot high stainless steel curved wavelike triangles with colorful seahorses and sea stars frolicking among the waves. For more information and a calendar of free events: www.14Sculptors.com[2] or call 718-945-3131[3].
