In the Gallery

From January through May each year, students are invited to participate in the Art Students League’s class concours exhibition in the Phyllis Harriman Mason Gallery. Under the guidance of their instructors, students select works to display, which will be judged by other League instructors. The judges award Red Dots for those works deemed best in show. At the end of the season, several Red Dot pieces are purchased for the school’s permanent collection.

The concours concluded last week, with works by students of Oldrich Teply, Ephraim Rubenstein, Ellen Eagle, and Oscar Garcia. Red dots were awarded to Anna Fyodora, Joel Mitnick, Okim Kim, Bette Elman, Carmen Frank, and Jessica Mandrick. Mr. Rubenstein’s students abstained from the judging process.
