In “A Portentous Landscape” (PDF here), appearing in the January/February issue of The Artist’s Magazine, Jerry Weiss writes about Twilight in the Wilderness, an 1860 landscape by Frederic Edwin Church. The painting is part of the Cleveland Museum of Art’s exhibition, Maine Sublime: Frederic Church’s Twilight in the Wilderness, which continues through January 25, 2015.
