My studio is a great space and big for New York City, 4,400 square feet, but it’s never big enough. I live and work here and that’s the way I like it. I get up in the morning and go see what the previous day’s work looks like. I’ve been in SoHo long enough to watch it go from a neighborhood that no one knew could find—I had to give directions to cabbies at night from Max’s Kansas City on Park Avenue South and 17th—to an international destination. It was a exciting place to hang out in the 70s, 80s, and early 90s. My only complaint is all the galleries moved out.
