Figure Drawing Master Class is Dan Gheno’s new book, a 176-page compilation of ten of articles he wrote for Drawing Magazine. Each article has been rewritten as individual, sequential chapters, with added text, images, and new step-by-step demonstrations. The book includes work by many Old Masters as well as drawings and paintings by Gheno, Art Students League members Robin Smith and the late Marvin Franklin, and many League instructors, past and present, including Sigmund Abeles, Anthony Antonios, Peter Cox, Harvey Dinnerstein, Deane G. Keller Jr., Mary Beth McKenzie, Andrew Reiss, Sharon Sprung, Jerry Weiss, and Alex Zwarenstein. The book (available for pre-order on Amazon) will be published by North Light in May 2015. The Spring 2015 issue of Drawing Magazine includes an excerpt from the book’s chapter on gesture drawing.
