Deborah Winiarski has curated Casting Shadows: Work in Dimension and Relief for Julie Heller East (Provincetown, MA) that includes work by five artists using encaustic. “For some of these works,” she explains, “the delicate shadows cast are vital to the statement. In others, the shadow is the inevitable consequence of their dimensionality.” Casting Shadows opens June 5 and continues through June 18, 2015, with a reception scheduled for June 5, 5–8 p.m.

Winiarski also will be exhibiting in a group show, One + One, at A Gallery (Provincetown, MA) from June 3 through June 9, 2015. The idea behind show is to allow one invited artist, who’s previously exhibited at the gallery, select another artist, who has never exhibited there. For this show, which coincides with the Ninth Annual International Encaustic Conference, Winiarski has invited Joan Stuart Ross. A reception is scheduled for June 5, 6–10 p.m.
