Peter Ruta began painting at the Art Students League as a teenager in 1937. Now ninety-seven years of age, he’s still painting in his own inimitable style, a mix of European influences and a long immersion in the American landscape. This mini-retrospective starts in the Art Students League’s main office, continues into the lobby, and concludes in the third floor cafĂ©. The exhibition continues through October 16, 2015.
